NPORS N404 Safe Working at Height
The NPORS N404 Safe Working at Height course provides essential training for individuals working above ground level. This half day course ensures operatives understand the risks associated with working at height and the practical steps required to reduce accidents and injuries.
Designed in line with health and safety legislation, this course helps employers meet legal obligations and equips workers with the knowledge and confidence to carry out work at height safely and responsibly.
Course Content
Delegates will cover the following key areas:
- Introduction to the working at height industry and associated risks
- Understanding legal responsibilities and operator duties
- Defining what constitutes work at height
- Identifying common hazards and accident causation
- Planning and organising safe height-related work activities
- Establishing exclusion zones and identifying overhead dangers
- Emergency actions and site-specific controls
- Selecting, inspecting, and maintaining appropriate PPE
- Practical demonstration and discussion of safe working methods at height
Course Duration
½ Day
Entry Requirements
- Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English
- Must bring one form of photographic ID (e.g. driving licence or passport)
- Full PPE is required, including:
- Hard hat
- Safety boots
- Hi-vis clothing
- Gloves
Certification
- On successful completion, delegates will receive an NPORS Traditional Operator Card.
- Certification demonstrates competence and is valid for 5 years, subject to renewal.
