EUSR Butt & Electrofusion
This practical training course is designed for individuals working in the utilities sector, particularly those involved in the installation and maintenance of water, gas, and wastewater pipelines.
It covers two key pipe jointing techniques used with polyethylene (PE) pipework:
- Butt Fusion: A method of joining two pipe ends by heating and fusing them together to form a strong, seamless joint. The course teaches correct procedures, safety protocols, and the use of specialist equipment to ensure leak-free, durable connections that meet industry standards.
- Electrofusion: A technique that uses fittings with built-in electric heating elements to fuse pipes together. Learners will gain the skills needed to carry out safe and compliant electrofusion welds, with a focus on equipment setup, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
This endorsed training programme with the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) ensures participants gain the essential knowledge and hands-on experience required to carry out fusion jointing to industry standards. Successful candidates will be registered on the EUSR for a period of 3 years.
Certification is essential for demonstrating competence and contributes to the overall safety, reliability, and efficiency of utility infrastructure.
